Virtually all the grad students around me, along with all the artists I work with and the musicians and other creative people I have as friends, are struggling for their place in the world.

Coming from this kind of background, my heart just naturally goes out to people who are trying to get their work known on the web. If my recommendations can help good work come to other people's attention, I feel like I'm helping create the more open and supportive kind of environment that we all want to live and work in.
